Author:The author of this document was King James.
Audience: The Audience is the leaders and everyone else in the colonies.
Tone: The tone is serious, professional, and somewhat controlling. This document is full of information and it explains what the king wants to happen in the colonies, therefore it gives a controlled tone.
Purpose: The purpose of content is basically explaining the Rules and Laws and boundaries for each colony. For instance, one section explains that the people in the colonies should mine for gold and silver and if any of them find any one fifth of that goes to the king i am guessing.
Persuasion
(Ethos) one emotion in this document is safety, it says "Persons o of Subjects, which shall dwell and inhabit within every or any of the said several colonies and Plantations, and every of their children, which shall happen to be born within any of the Limits and Precincts... shall HAVE and enjoy all Liberties, Franchises, and Immunities... within this our Realm of England." All in all this quote is saying anyone born in the colonies has all the same rights as the people in England.
(Pathos)This document is creditable because it was written by the king who explained in great detail how he wanted each colony to run.
(Logos) People from England were encouraged to join the colonies so that they could settle in the new land, many families and others wanted a new start and took the opportunity to settle in the colonies. The text in the document is logical because it is giving the leaders or council a set plan for how he wants the colonies run.
