My Contribution to My School
My name is Emily Truva. For my essay, I have chosen to share contributions made to my high school. A contribution is not a requirement, but a voluntary task given for the sake of others. Some of my high school contributions include serving as historian for my French Club, organizing a bake sale, and working in the Student Store at lunchtime.
For example, being an historian for French Club has been a major contribution to my school as I have been involved in planning and organizing events, coming up with new ideas for activities, and photography. I enjoy being involved in activities in whatever environment I am in, and I look forward to contributing to PSEC’s events and activities.
In addition to involvement in extra-curricular activities at school, I organized a bake sale to benefit the school’s ASB. Working with others enhanced my teamwork skills. The team solicited local bakeries and stores for comestibles, and also baked our own goodies, which we sold at lunchtime for one week. We accomplished our goal of raising over $300. My teamwork skills will be beneficial at PSEC.
Similarly, I raised money for the school by mixing and selling Smoothies to staff and students at Federal Way. This involved the process of working in the Student Store with the cash register, learning how to use the Smoothie equipment, and accounting for the money. I am a responsible and trustworthy worker and will bring these skills to PSEC.
All in all, my contributions to my school have caused me to grow. I have learned organizational skills from French Club. Teamwork skills were developed through the bake sale. Hard work and responsibility were strengthened through my work at the Student Store. I will bring these traits to PSEC.
