Bartolome de Las Casas

My own view is that the Spaniards were not using their resources wisely and they were cruel to the natives. Though i concede that they Spaniards needed to take over and claim the land for Spain, I still maintain that they could have used the resources they had much better. For example, the natives were willing to help and serve the Spaniards, but they took advantage of them and treated them badly when it was not necessary. Although some might object that the Spaniards were only maintaining control, I reply that they were killing innocent women and children for more reasons then just control. The issue is important because it is the start of slavery and mistreating of others.
