-feared democratic tyranny
Loyalists saw Patriots as
-unsrupulous
-violent
-self interseted men, wanting power for themselves
Many Loyalists were-
-Royal Officials
-Wealthy merchants
-Urban lawyers
-Slaves looked to Britain for hope of Freedom
-Indian tribes
Some feared damage to trade
